1. Day backpack (20 – 30 Ltrs): When you are on a local sightseeing tour, you are required to carry only a few necessary items and for that, you need a day backpack as you will leave your bigger one at your designated stay. 
2. Floaters or Sandals: When you are spending your day at leisure, a good pair of sandals and floaters will help you to move freely.
3. 1 Down Jacket / Main Jacket: It’s emphasized that you need to carry proper layers so you can avoid getting cold which is why you need to carry an insulated jacket that you can put on over your other clothes.
4. 1 Pair of Thermal: Thermal is a piece of garment that helps in keeping your body warm in cold temperatures. It is a necessary item that you need when traveling to cold regions.
5. Outdoor Shoes: A comfortable shoe is required when traveling outdoors, especially in the mountains. They shouldn’t be chunky, instead, they should be lightweight and sturdy.
6. 3 Quick Dry Tees: You must keep at least three pairs of quick dry tees so that you can wash them in between stops for proper hygiene. 
7. 3 Pair of Cotton Socks: Cotton socks are extremely comfortable to move around in and are lightweight as well which is why you can always count on a good pair of cotton socks while trekking. However, keep in mind to change them and avoid wearing them when they are wet.
8. 1 Pair of Woolen Socks: A good pair of woolen socks, especially merino, are comfortable, limit odors and provide adequate insulation from the cold so you can wear them at night.
9. 1 Poncho: A poncho is an evolved form of a raincoat that provides coverage to your body as well as your bag and ensures total water protection from the rain. 
10. Quick-dry towel: A quick-dry towel will help in maintaining proper hygiene. It must dry quickly because the wet fabric will only increase the chance of bacterial growth.
11. Gloves: Insulated gloves help in maintaining proper body heat in your hands.
12. Sanitizer: Prevent the risk of infections and maintain proper hand hygiene by making sure you carry a hand sanitizer.
13. Sun Cap: A lightweight sun cap with side flaps is perfect to keep your head cool and avoid sunburns on a sunny day. 
14. Lip Balm: Your lips can become chapped due to the harsh cold winds so it's important to keep them moisturized.
15. Cold Cream & Sun Screen (SPF 40+): To avoid sunburns and chafing, you need to put on sunscreen as well as cold cream.
16. Water Bottle 1 Lt.: Hydration is extremely important when it comes to traveling To carry a water bottle that you can refill with Himalayan water is a must.
17. Bag for all your Toiletries: A bag with all your essentials including napkins, toothpaste, sanitizers, paper soap, etc should be carried in a ziplock bag. 
18. Personal Basic Medical Kit: Carrying a medical kit with bandages, Dettol, and medication for headaches, nausea, etc is necessary.
19. Sunglasses / People who use spectacles (Use Photochromic glasses instead of contact lenses): Photochromatic glasses are specs that are designed to transform into anti-glare shades depending upon exposure to the sun. They are good when it comes to eye protection but one can also opt for clip-on glasses etc.
20. Mobile charger / Power bank: Although you'll get electricity at most places, it is always advisable to carry a charged power bank in case of emergencies.
21. Documents: Identification proofs like Aadhar Card, and driver's License.
22. Travel Laundry Bag: In case your clothes get wet or your garments don’t dry, you can carry them in the bag and keep them separate from your dry clothes. 
23. Camera: This should be obvious. To make sure that you get to capture all the great moments from your trip. Make sure that you have enough storage and some extra batteries as well.

NOTE: Travellers residing outside Delhi are suggested to book trains/flights reaching Chandigarh not later than 2 PM on the trip start date. Similarly, on trip end date, book returning flight/trains leaving post 10 AM.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT SPITI VALLEY

The world within a world “SPITI VALLEY” is a cold desert located in the Northeastern part of Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 12,500 above sea level. It is also known as the “Middle Land” i.e. the land between India & Tibet. It is known for its beautiful and remote valleys, snow-crowned mountains, adventurous trekking trails, quaint villages, and Buddhist Monasteries.

Spiti Valley is well connected by road to other cities and adjoining states from May to November and remains closed for the remaining time of the year due to the rigid weather conditions. The nearest airport to Spiti Valley is Kullu Airport at Bhuntar. Spiti Valley is on the bucket list of every traveler and there are plenty of reasons for that. Even though the beauty of Spiti valley is spread across the entirety of its land, there are few places in Spiti valley that you simply cannot miss out on as they reflect the true essence of Spiti. 

THE MUST-VISIT PLACES IN SPITI VALLEY:

KAZA:

Kaza is the administrative district and the largest settlement of Spiti Valley.  Located at an elevation of 3,800ft. Kaza is divided into two parts i.e. Old Kaza and New Kaza. Old Kaza as the name suggest embodies the Buddhist culture perfectly and is known for its historically significant structures like the King’s Palace, Tangyud Monastery, etc. On the other hand, New Kaza represents the modernization of the town as has all the Government offices, restaurants, and hotels. The Kinnaur Valley route is open throughout the year while Lahaul Valley only opens during summer. Kaza is also the base camp and a gateway to various trekking trails in Spiti.

NAKO:

Nako is a beautiful village near the Indo-China Border in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh. Lovingly it is also known as the “Dream Village in the Himalayas”.  At an altitude of 3600mtrs above sea level,  Nako village is the perfect place to provide you peace and comfort on this road trip to Spiti valley. Nako Monastery, Nako Lake, and Guru Padmasambhava are some of the major attractions of this tiny hamlet. Nako Village is the base trek to Reo Purgyil Peak.

TABO:

Tabo is a charming small town in the Lahaul Spiti District nestled on the banks of the Spiti River. Nestled at 3280mts above sea level, It lies between Reckong Peo and Kaza. Founded in 996 C.E., the Tabo Monastery is a 1000 years old Buddhist Monastery that has managed to preserve ancient relics. It is also known for its cave shrines. 

DHANKAR:

Situated at the confluence of the Spiti and Pin rivers, Dhankar is a picturesque village located at an elevation of 3,894ft. It is also known as the Ancient Capital of Spiti for housing many historical monuments in its embrace.  The Dhankar Monastery which is the second-highest monastery in the world, along with the Dhankar Fort which is amongst the 100 most endangered sites is the major attraction of Dhankar Village.

PIN-VALLEY:

Pin Valley National Park is located in Lahaul-Spiti at an elevation of 3,300-6,632 meters above sea level. It is one of the most famous high altitude National Parks due to which there are rare species of animals found here like Woolly Hare, Tibetian Gazelle, Snow Leopard, and Ibex. There is a wide variety of flora that can be found in the Pin-Valley National Park as well. The spectacular National Park marks the border between the formerly separated districts of Lahaul & Spiti.

MUDH VILLAGE:

Mudh Village is an ancient village located in Pin Valley at an elevation of 14,500 feet. The population of this offbeat village is about 200 people and it is surrounded by picturesque mountains. It is a must-visit place on this road trip to Spiti valley as it gives insights into the rich culture of Spiti. 

HIKKIM:

This peaceful village is located at an elevation of 4,400 feet above sea level and is a 15km drive away from Kaza. It is one of the highest inhabited locations and has the world's highest post office Hikkim, which is open throughout the year and can be easily accessed by road. It is a beautiful village with a bowl-shaped setting and major Buddhist influence. Hikkim also offers a marvelous view of Chau Chau Kang Nelda Peak.

KOMIK:

Asia’s highest village “ Komik” is in the Lahaul Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh and is located at a height of 18,000 feet above sea level. The village offers breathtaking views, charming festivity, shopping, and trek trails. Komik also has the Lundup Tsemo Gompa Buddhist Monastery which is also the world’s highest motorable Buddhist Monastery. The village remains completely cut off from the rest of the world during the winter season due to the heavy snowfall. It remains cold throughout the year and this is why summers are the best time to visit this small village to beat the heat.

LANGZA:

Langza is a quaint village in Spiti valley. Langza is divided into two parts Langza Yogama i.e. the lower Langza and Langza Gongma i.e. the upper Langza. Langza is known for its ancient Monasteries, buildings of the prehistoric era, green pastures, rugged mountains, barren landscape, mud houses, treks to a few high-altitude lakes, and abundance of fossils. The 1000-year-old statue of Lord Buddha overlooking Langza is a major attraction. Apart from that, it is also known as “The Village of Gods” for its spiritual significance. 

KEY MONASTERY:

Key Monastery, locally known as Kye Gompa is an ancient monastery located at 4,166 meters above sea level on a hilltop close to the Spiti River. Key Monastery is over 1000 years old and is the largest monastery in Spiti Valley. The monastery is home to 11th-century Buddhist scrolls and thangka paintings. The Monastery is majorly visited by tourists in June & July as the Monastery celebrates a festival that displays the Buddhist culture beautifully. Key Monastery is located at a  distance of 12km from Kaza and 120 km from Manali.

KIBBER:

Kibber Village in Spiti is a beautiful village located at a staggering height of 14,200 feet. Kibber is the world’s highest continuously inhabited village and garners attention because it allows travelers to sight the Snow leopard and other rare species as well.  

CHANDRATAL LAKE:

Chandratal Lake also known as The Moon Lake is a crescent moon-shaped lake that keeps changing its color from reddish-orange to blue to emerald green over time. Chandratal lake is a 9km hike from Kazam Samudra Tapu Plateau which overlooks Chandratal river.

CHITKUL:

Chitkul is a majestic village in the Kinnaur district at an elevation of 3,450 meters above sea level. Chitkul is the last inhabited village near the Indo-China Border and is mostly covered in snow.  Situated along the banks of the Bispa river, Chitkul is about 28 km from Sangla. Mathi temple, Charang Chitkul Pass, Baspa riverfront, and Sangla Chitkul river are a few attractions of Chitkul. 

KALPA:

A small village in the Sutlej river valley, Kalpa is known for its apple orchards and has a history of ancient temples. It's one of the highlights of this Spiti valley road trip. Surrounded by chilgoza forests, the serenity that Kalpa provides is unmatched.  

Cancellation Policy

• No Refund shall be made with respect to the initial booking amount for any cancellations. However,
• If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of the trip cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
• If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 75% of the trip cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
• If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of the trip cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
• In the case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases, the operator will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
