About Gokarna Backpacking Trip & History
Gokarna is known for its beautiful beaches and clear waters, and in Sanskrit, Gokarna means cow’s ear. According to legend, when the demon king of Lanka, Ravana, sought to pull the Atmaling, which had been given to him by Lord Shiva, it burst out of the ground in the shape of a cow’s ear, thus giving the place its name. As it turns out, Gokarna is one of the best places in India to witness the stunning bioluminescent phytoplankton.
Gokarna Trip is a choice among travelers who desire a calm vacation, and it is the better laid-back and slightly commercialized performance of Goa. Besides the famous Om beach, it has Kudle beach and the more secluded Half Moon and Paradise beach. The total trek distance of the beach trek to Gokarna is around 10 KM. The trek will start from Half Moon beach, from where you will be needed to give through a hill to reach Om Beach finally. While there are numerous Gokarna appeals, coasts, tours, temples, and a hammock will be most suitable for your short vacation in Gokarna. It is best to spend three days in Gokarna to make the most of your trip.

World‛s Tallest Shiva Statue Temple at Murudeshwar Beach. LordMurudeswar, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, is honored in this ancient shrine. It is also known as Dakshin Kashi because it is considered sacred as Varanasi’s Shiva Temple. This site is a magnificent spiritual retreat for all its followers, and it is one of Gokarna’s largest and most well-known tourist attractions. Sri MridesaLinga, commonly known as Murdeshwar, is the major deity. The linga is roughly two feet below ground level and is a portion of the original AtmaLinga. It is mostly attracted by every person who has spiritual trust.

- Day 01: Depart from Mumbai (2 PM), Pune (6 PM) to Gokarna
- Day 02: Visit Yana Caves and trek from Om Beach to Kudle Trek. Watersports at Kudle Beach, Watch the Sunset and enjoy the Nightlife at Kudle. Stay in Gokarna
- Day 03: Visit Mahabaleshwar Temple, Explore Mirjan Fort, Honnavar Sharavathi Mangrove Boardwalk, Murudeshwar Temple, 2nd Highest Shiva Statue - Depart for Mumbai/Pune
- Day 04: Arrive in Pune (9 AM) and Mumbai (11 AM)

Day 01: Mumbai / Pune / Bangalore to Gokarna
- 02:00 PM: Pickup from Dadar TT Circle, Mumbai
- 06:00 PM: Pickup from FC Road, Pune
- 06:45 PM: Pickup from Wakad, Pune
- Overnight journey to Gokarna.
Day 02: Yana Caves, Beach Trek, and Cafe Hoping
- Breakfast halt, freshen up, and change.
- 11:00 AM: Reach Yana Caves.
- You will have to trek 500 meters for Yana Caves to witness its unique rock formations, Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and Mohini Shikhara. These massive limestone rocks amid lush forests offer a stunning backdrop for trekking and religious activities.
- 12:00 PM: Head towards Gokarna.
- 01:30 PM: Have lunch at Gokarna and check in to stay hotel.
- 03:00 PM: Get Freshen up and head to OM Beach, and explore the beach. You can take a ferry ride on which you can spot Paradise Beach, Half Moon Beach, and Moon Beach. (Ferry costs 300 per person at own cost).
- Later Trek to Kudle Beach, one of the most happening beaches in Gokarna.
- Here you can enjoy Watersports like banana boat rides, parasailing, and jet-skiing. (At own cost).
- Watersports is closed due to Monsoon Season.
- As the sun starts to set, it's time to have some fun, hop into a cafe, eat or drink or just chill as there is nothing else left on today's itinerary, expect you to have all the fun *Wink Wink*. (Last order 10 PM)
- 11:00 PM: Back to the Hotel for the night's stay.
Day 03: Mahabaleshwar Temple, Mirjan Fort, Honnavar and Murudeshwar
- 06:00 AM: Wake and freshen-up
- 06:30 AM: Visit Mahabaleshwar Temple, If there is a huge queue we might have to visit it from the outside.
- Please remember there is a dress code for Mahabaleshwar Temple, girls have to wear Saree or Kurti Pajami fully covered. And boys have to wear a lungi without a T-shirt.
- 08:00 AM: Have breakfast and checkout from the Hotel
- 10:00 AM: Reach Mirjan Fort, you will find it similar to Augada Fort in Goa. Live your low-budget "Dil Chahta Hai" moment in Gokarna.
- 11:00 AM: Leave from Mirjan to Honnavar. This is going to be another long ride of two hours.
- Reenergize yourself with glucose or coconut water as we still have two more spots to cover today.
- 01:00 PM: Arrive in Honnavar and embark on your journey to the mesmerizing Sharavathi Mangrove Boardwalk.
- 02:30 PM: Later proceed to Murudeshwar. It will be a half an hour's drive.
- 02:00 PM: Have a late lunch at Murudeshwar.
- Later visit Murudeshwar Temple and 2nd Highest Shiva Statue.
- 07:00 PM: We will start our return journey to Mumbai/Pune/Bangalore.
- Overnight journey by Bus with Dinner halt.
Day 04: Reach Pune/Mumbai/Bangalore
- 06:00 AM: Reach Bangalore
- 08:00 AM: Reach Pune
- 12:00 PM: Reach Mumbai

1. How big will the group be?
We prefer to have a group of 15-18 people as we intend to have more fun and give personal care. We need at least 12 people to manage our trip
2. Who will accompany us on the trip?
All our trips are led by professional travel coordinators who have good experience in managing groups.
3. If I’m the only girl in the group, is it safe to travel?
We generally have many girls joining us on the trip so there are high chances that you are not the only girl on the trip. However if you somehow end up being the only girl in the group, the majority of our staff are females so be assured you are in safe and reliable hands.
5. What will be the type of accommodation?
We are known to provide the best possible accommodation on our trips, the accommodation can be in hotels, which are located in the main market area. And the rooms will be allotted on a triple/quad-sharing basis gender-vise
6. What kind of food is served during the Trip?
We provide veg nutritious and healthy food on the trip. We always try to select the best/most famous restaurants for the food on our trips.
7. Is the mentioned number of days enough to explore the locations?
The itinerary is well-planned and curated to experience the destination to its fullest, covering the majority of sights both famous and offbeat.

No Refund shall be made with respect to the initial booking amount for any cancellations. However,
- If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellations are made within 0-30 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be canceled and in such cases, our service partner will try his best to provide an alternate feasible activity.
- For all the above choices, you can transfer your tickets to your friends. We would be more than happy to have them on board and you could save your hard-earned money.
